Greta Gerwig is touted as one of the ace filmmakers in the Hollywood industry. The majority of us, regardless of gender, played with Barbie dolls as children, and even guys have appreciated the appeal of these dolls and their male characteristics. 

The movie, 'Barbie', which hit the theatres on July 21, brings back pleasant memories of colorful costumes, doll-related themes, and our beloved Barbie dolls and dollhouses from our youth. Also, according to several reviews by the critics, Barbie has been dubbed ‘spectacular’ due to its theme, which pays an ode to womanhood.

As 'Oppenheimer' released on the same day, Barbie made every effort to market itself as a buzzy, major film in order to compete with Cillian Murphy-starrer. The makers even created a full pink animation that plays anytime someone searches for them on Google. According to Google results, the IMDb score of the film is concerning.

Though the movie now has an IMDb rating of above 7, which is respectable, the rating was 1 up until a couple of days ago.

Did IMDb actually rate Barbie 1/10?

According to a report in Binged, it was a glitch which showed up in the Google search results. Fortunately, the bug has been resolved, and sure, Barbie is far from receiving a rating of 1.

'Barbie' stars Ryan Gosling, Margot Robbie and Dua Lipa in the lead roles. The movie hit the theatres on July 21, 2023. Apart from Margot and Ryan, the cast for Barbie includes Will Ferrell as the Mattel CEO, Connor Swindells, Nicola Coughlan, Emerald Fennell, Kate McKinnon, Michael Cera, America Ferrera, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Rhea Perlman, Sharon Rooney, Ana Cruz Kayne, Ritu Arya and Jamie Demetriou. We will also see Emma Mackey, Issa Rae, Hari Nef, Alexandra Shipp, Simu Liu, Scott Evans and Ncuti Gatwa.

While 'Barbie' has collected Rs 11.5 crore so far at the Indian Box Office, Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer has raked in Rs 31 crore.
