Recently, Bhumi Pednekar and her sister Samiksha launched luxury water brand Backbay, a sustainable beverage brand that aims to redefine hydration in India. Their flagship product, Backbay Aqua, is a natural mineral water sourced from the Himalayas, rich in minerals like magnesium, calcium and potassium. Priced between Rs 150 for 500 ml and Rs 200 for 750 ml, Backbay Aqua is positioned as a premium yet accessible option for conscious consumers.

Opening up about her brand, Bhumi said in a conversation with CNBC TV-18, "It is our own facility in Himachal. We have put up our own plant and we are very proud of it. And, our workforce is led by women because that’s just the kind of value system we wanted to inculcate within our brand. Our capacity is 45,000 boxes a day. We have a large capacity."
