In a formal letter addressed to the makers, PETA India emphasised the importance of treating animals with respect and dignity, rather than exploiting them for entertainment value.

Citing the potential distress and harm that animals may experience in the chaotic environment of the Bigg Boss house, PETA India appealed to the show's producers to consider alternative, humane approaches to entertainment. The organization also highlighted India's animal protection laws and guidelines, which prohibit the use of animals in performances that may cause them stress or harm.

PETA India wrote, “Join PETA India in urging host @beingsalmankhan and "Bigg Boss" to stop using animals on the show and to help PETA India transfer donkey Max to a sanctuary. [Link in the bio for more details].”

Bigg Boss has a history of incorporating animals into its reality show format, sparking conversations about animal welfare and entertainment. Previous seasons have seen various animals reside in the house, including a dog, parrot, and even fish, which were entrusted to the care of contestants as part of their daily tasks.
