Kpop sensations BLACKPINK's Jennie and aespa have made a remarkable impact in the global music industry. Their achievements are now being recognized at the 2025 Billboard Women in Music Awards, making them the only female artists after TWICE and NJZ (formerly NewJeans) to receive nominations this year.
BLACKPINK member Jennie is set to receive the prestigious Global Force award for her exceptional contributions as a solo artist. Over the past year, she has captivated audiences worldwide with her music, breaking records on multiple charts. Her October 2024 release, Mantra, became a massive hit, earning her a place in music history.
The track not only entered the Billboard Hot 100 and Hot 200 charts but also became the highest-charting song by a Korean female soloist on the UK Singles Chart. Additionally, it set a new record as the highest-peaking song by an Asian female act on US iTunes in 2024.

Jennie's influence in the music world continues to grow. With her first full-length solo album, Ruby, releasing on March 7, fans eagerly anticipate more groundbreaking success. The album's pre-release tracks, Zen and Love Hangover, have already gained significant attention. Jennie will receive her award at the live event in Los Angeles on March 29.
The rising Kpop group aespa, consisting of Karina, Winter, Giselle and Ningning, will be honoured with the Group of the Year award. Known for their powerful performances and futuristic concepts, aespa has gained a solid international following.

In May 2024, the group released their debut studio album, Armageddon: The 1st Album, which quickly became a commercial success. Their popularity soared further when they collaborated with Canadian artist Grimes for a remix of their hit single Supernova. This remix was part of the EP iScreaM Vol. 33: Supernova/Armageddon Remixes and was widely praised by fans and critics alike.
The 2025 Billboard Women in Music Awards will be held at Hollywood Park’s YouTube Theater in Inglewood, California. Dana Droppo, Billboard’s Chief Brand Officer, shared the significance of the event, saying, “The 2025 Billboard Women in Music celebrates the incredible women who continue to drive innovation, inspire change and reshape the future of music.”
