BLACKPINK Jisoo Reveals How She Became Friends With Aespa’s Karina; Fans Say 'Need More Of Their Interactions...'

BLACKPINK Jisoo recently shared an interesting story about how she first got in contact with aespa’s Karina, creating a buzz among fans of both groups. The two idols, representing two of the biggest girl groups from the 3rd and 4th generations of Kpop, connected through their makeup artists, who introduced them, believing they would get along well.

During her appearance on Jang Doyeon’s YouTube series SalonDrip on February 4, 2025, Jisoo revealed, “My makeup shop and Karina’s makeup shop owners are very close, and they helped in hooking us up. The owner told me that I would have fun hanging out with Karina.” Fans were delighted to learn that their connection was formed so organically and that their friendship has been growing ever since.

Karina said Jisoo contacted her first and invited aespa to attend Blackpink concert. Karina said she became close with Jisoo.

Jisoo shared that when she and Karina first met, they decided to have a casual day out together. “We ate food and chatted at a cafe. I was curious about what goes on in the industry these days and what is trending or popular,” she explained. Karina, representing the newer generation of idols, gave Jisoo some insight into the latest trends, particularly the rise of dance challenges in Kpop. “Turns out challenges are a thing that everyone does,” Jisoo added, showing her interest in keeping up with the ever-evolving industry.

Aside from her growing friendships in the industry, Jisoo has been making waves with her upcoming projects. Fans are eagerly anticipating her acting comeback, as she is set to star in Boyfriend On Demand (Monthly Boyfriend), a highly anticipated Kdrama currently in production. Her Kdrama Newtopia will premiere on February 7, 2025.
