BLACKPINK Jisoo is in the spotlight once again, captivating fans not just with her music but also with her flourishing acting career. The Kpop idol, model and singer has been actively building her acting portfolio, taking on highly-anticipated projects that have her fans eagerly awaiting their release. Among her upcoming ventures is the Kdrama Newtopia, where she will star alongside Park Jeong Min, as well as her much-anticipated movie debut in Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint, co-starring with Lee Min Ho and Ahn Hyo Seop.

Adding to the excitement, rumours have been circulating that Jisoo is considering a new drama project titled Monthly Boyfriend. Speculation reached a fever pitch when, on August 29, a media outlet reported that Jisoo had received a casting offer to star as the female lead in the drama. Although Jisoo’s agency, BLISSOO, has confirmed that they are currently reviewing the offer, no official decision has been announced yet.

On September 4, Jisoo sent fans into a frenzy when she took to Bubble, an app that allows fans to communicate with Kpop idols and Kdrama actors, to share a cryptic selfie. The image was accompanied by a few carefully chosen emojis that immediately sparked speculation among BLINKs (BLACKPINK’s fandom). Many fans began to wonder if the emojis were hinting at Jisoo's upcoming, yet unannounced, projects.

One fan couldn’t resist asking Jisoo directly, "Is this a spoiler?" Jisoo, ever the tease, responded mysteriously, "Oh… could it be..? The truth always comes out eventually..." This playful yet ambiguous reply only fueled the curiosity of fans, leaving them to speculate about what surprises Jisoo might have in store.

In a light-hearted moment on the same platform, Jisoo also interacted with a fan pretending to be her fellow BLACKPINK member Jennie. The fan wrote, "Jisoo, it’s me, Jennie," to which Jisoo humorously responded, "Huh? hello?!"

Jisoo’s acting journey began in 2021 with her role in the JTBC drama Snowdrop, where she starred alongside Jung Hae In. She has since made a special appearance in the film The Plot and has wrapped up filming for Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint. Additionally, Jisoo is set to feature in the upcoming zombie drama Newtopia, which has already generated significant buzz among fans.

In February 2024, Jisoo took a bold step by launching her own company, BLISSOO, to manage her solo activities. This move made her the third BLACKPINK member to establish a personal label. While she continues her group activities under BLACKPINK’s agency, YG Entertainment, Jisoo is now also focusing on her individual endeavours as an actress under BLISSOO, where her older brother, Kim Jung Hoon, serves as the CEO.
