BLACKPINK's Lisa Announces New Song Rockstar: After two weeks of building anticipation, BLACKPINK's Lisa has officially announced her upcoming solo single, ‘Rockstar’. The Kpop idol revealed the news with a simple yet stylish post on her Instagram Story on Tuesday (June 18). The post featured a sleek graphic displaying the title of the track and confirmed that ‘Rockstar’ will be released at 8 p.m. ET on June 27. The Thai rapper began teasing her new single at the start of June by launching her TikTok account, where she posted a clip that seemed to include a snippet of the edgy new song. 

The excitement surrounding her announcement was further heightened by a record-breaking achievement; according to the release, LISA set a Guinness World Record by amassing one million followers on TikTok in just two hours and 18 minutes. Fans eagerly await the release of ‘Rockstar’, anticipating another hit from the talented artist.

Lisa introduced her own label LLOUD on February 8 after leaving YG Entertainment for her solo career. She partnered with RCA Records for new music releases and plans to drop a new album by the end of 2024. 

In September 2021, Lisa released her debut single album Lalisa, setting records in South Korea by selling 736,000 copies in its first week. Her music video for the lead single became the most-watched solo artist debut on YouTube within 24 hours. Both "Lalisa" and the album's second single "Money" reached the top ten of the Billboard Global 200 chart. "Money" also set records as the longest-charting song by a female K-pop soloist on the US Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Singles Chart. Lisa's album Lalisa and the song "Money" each surpassed one billion streams on Spotify, marking milestones for K-pop solo artists. In 2024, Lisa founded her own management company called Lloud and signed with RCA Records.

Lisa has received numerous awards, including eight Guinness World Records, a Gaon Chart Music Award, and a Mnet Asian Music Award. She also became the first K-pop soloist to win MTV Video Music Awards and MTV Europe Music Awards. Lisa holds the title of the most-followed K-pop artist on Instagram and the most-subscribed K-pop soloist on YouTube. Recognized as a cultural ambassador leader by the Thailand Ministry of Culture, Lisa has been praised by former Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha for promoting Thai culture worldwide.
