BLACKPINK Rosé has officially launched her highly anticipated debut solo studio album, Rosie, released on December 6, 2024. The album, which features 12 tracks, has already gained significant attention, particularly for its emotionally charged lyrics inspired by a past toxic relationship. Alongside pre-releases like APT. featuring Bruno Mars and Number One Girl, fans were captivated by the song Toxic Till the End for its deeply personal storytelling.

In an interview on The Zane Lowe Show ahead of the album’s release, Rosé candidly shared how her emotionally draining past relationship served as the creative foundation for much of the album. The singer described the writing process as therapeutic, helping her process and heal from the experience. Notably, the original title of Toxic Till the End was The Ex, but Rosé ultimately opted for a name that better encapsulated the song’s emotional intensity.

The album showcases Rosé’s versatility, blending heartfelt storytelling with pop and acoustic elements. Tracks like Two Years and Stay a Little Longer have drawn comparisons to Taylor Swift’s narrative style, resonating deeply with themes of love, loss and resilience. The tracklist also includes upbeat and experimental songs like Drinks or Coffee and Gameboy.

One lyric from Toxic Till the End sparked significant fan speculation: "I can forgive you for a lot of things, for not giving me back my Tiffany rings, but I’ll never forgive you for one thing, my dear — you wasted my prettiest years."

This lyric led fans to theorize about Rosé's ex, with some even questioning the identity of the person she referenced. However, in a recent interview with Hits Radio UK, Rosé debunked rumours surrounding the lyric, clarifying that the detail about her ex stealing her Tiffany rings was fictional. She explained that it was a metaphor, jokingly asking fans to "calm down" as no rings were actually taken.

Fans humorously speculated about how her real-life ex might feel about the lyric, with many taking to social media to share memes and jokes. One fan commented, "Her ex probably double-checked his jewellery box after hearing that!"

The music video for Toxic Till the End, featuring Rosé alongside actor Evan Mock as the "toxic ex," fueled even more speculation. Fans analyzed the video’s 90s-inspired aesthetic and Rosé's skateboarding phase in 2022, drawing connections to potential real-life inspirations.

Some fans suggested that Rosé's ex might be linked to her skateboarding past, with one name, Jason Choi, being frequently mentioned. Choi, a skateboard teacher, became a subject of speculation after fans discovered an alleged connection to Rosé’s private Instagram account. Choi addressed the rumours in an Instagram story, denying any romantic link to Rosé and urging fans to stop the harassment.

The music video for Toxic Till the End particularly stood out for its stunning visuals and Rosé’s kiss with Evan Mock, with fans calling it "surprising." Rosé’s debut album is available on major streaming platforms and in physical stores.
