BLACKPINK Rosé has added yet another achievement to her record-breaking career! The Kpop sensation’s latest collaboration with Bruno Mars, titled APT, has stormed the Billboard Hot 100 chart, debuting at No. 8. This historic achievement makes Rosé the first female Kpop artist to break into the Billboard Hot 100's top 10, an honour that firmly cements her as a global music trailblazer.

The track APT made waves right from its release on October 18, 2024, as the lead single from Rosé’s forthcoming album Rosie. As the Billboard Hot 100 rankings were revealed on October 29, Rosé celebrated her highest debut on the U.S. chart to date. She now stands among notable Kpop icons like PSY, BTS, Jimin and Jungkook, who have previously achieved top spots on Billboard.

The track also soared to the No. 1 position on both the Billboard Global 200 and the Global Excluding U.S. charts, which monitor song rankings worldwide and outside of the United States, respectively. On Tuesday, Billboard shared the news on social media, announcing that APT had secured the eighth spot on the Hot 100, a chart that tracks songs from all genres released in the U.S. This achievement sets a new benchmark for Kpop girl groups and female solo artists, surpassing BLACKPINK’s previous peak of No. 13 with their 2020 single Ice Cream, featuring Selena Gomez.

Beyond breaking into the top 10, Rosé’s APT has also set a record for the biggest streaming debut by a Kpop solo artist in Billboard history, racking up over 25 million streams within its debut week alone. This milestone highlights her widespread popularity and the immense global reach of Kpop.

APT is an upbeat pop-punk song inspired by one of Rosé’s favourite South Korean drinking games, called Apartment, lending the track its catchy, playful vibe. The song was crafted by an impressive lineup of songwriters and producers, including Rosé herself, along with Amy Allen, Theron Thomas, Cirkut, Omer Fedi, Rogét Chahayed, Bruno Mars, Philip Lawrence, Brody Brown and Nicky Chinn. Production credits go to Bruno Mars, Cirkut, Omer Fedi and Rogét Chahayed, who together brought a unique blend of styles to the track.

Before conquering Billboard, APT achieved a Perfect All-Kill on South Korea’s music charts and became the highest-ranking song by a female Kpop act on the UK’s Official Singles Chart. Fans around the world have praised Rosé's bold collaboration with Bruno Mars and her ability to explore new musical styles, calling it a step forward in her solo career.

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK member Jisoo cheered for Rose's solo success by commenting on her Instagram post on Billboard Hot 100's 'top 10' debut.
