Border 2 Director Hits Back At Trolls Targeting Varun Dhawan’s Facial Expressions: ‘Ab Kaam Bol Raha Hai’

As Border 2 is soaring at the box office and breaking all records, the movie's director Anurag Singh came forward to talk about the backlash Varun Dhawan faced after the release of the film's song Ghar Kab Aaoge. He was trolled for his acting in the song, particularly his facial expressions. After several memes circulated on social media, Anurag took a dig at critics and asked them to apologise to the actor.

Anurag Kashyap, the director of the movie Border 2, backed Varun Dhawan, who was facing intense online grilling before the movie's release. In a conversation with Hindustan Times, the director said, "But if you are saying bad things, once you like it, say that too, which is what is happening."

Asking the trolls to apologise to the actor, he said, "Ab maafi ki application submit kar rahe hai to acha hi hai (Now they are submitting apology letters, so it's good). Like I said, if you criticised it and unnecessarily done so, once you like it, you should say sorry and admit it was wrong."

Anurag also stated, "But I am happy this has left our film because ab kaam bol raha hai (Now our work is talking)."

Varun Dhawan's Response To Trolling

The movie Border 2 is currently garnering immense love from the audience but before the release of the film, Varun Dhawan was brutally trolled for his acting in the song Ghar kab Aaoge. Though the actor remained calm and unfazed after the memes circulating on social media, he still took a playful jab at the trolls. During a Q&A session on X, a user asked Varun about the 'noise' around his role, to which he replied, "I believe that you shut down the noise and just let your work do the talking. Yeh sab cheezein chalti rehti hai. It doesn’t really matter."

Sunny Deol's Border 2 is a sequel to the 1997 blockbuster movie Border. The movie is currently riding the high tide after its grand release on January 23.
