Bougainvillea Box Office Collection Day 2: Starring Kunchacko Boban, Jyothirmayi and Fahadh Faasil, the film premiered on Thursday, October 17. Directed by Amal Neerad, the film has experienced a decline in earnings on its second day. Early estimates from Sacnilk indicate that it garnered above ₹2 crore on October 18, representing a significant drop from its opening day collection. This Malayalam crime thriller, co-written and directed by Neerad alongside Lajo Jose, also features Sharaf U Dheen, Veena Nandakumar, and Srinda.
Bougainvillea marks Jyothirmayi's return to the big screen after an 11-year break and was released globally on October 17, 2024, offering a compelling blend of crime and action.

On its second day, Bougainvillea earned approximately ₹2.15 crore in India net (early estimates), following a strong opening of ₹3.3 crore on its first day. This brings the total to around ₹5.45 crore. On Friday, October 18, 2024, the film recorded an overall Malayalam occupancy of 30.68%, with morning shows at 16.36%, afternoon shows at 20.98%, evening shows at 31.80%, and night shows peaking at 53.59%.

The film features Kunchacko Boban as Dr. Royce Thomas, Fahadh Faasil as ACP David Koshy IPS, and Jyothirmayi as Reethu Thomas. Supporting characters include Sharaf U Dheen as Biju, Veena Nandakumar as Meera, Srinda as Rema and Jinu Joseph.
Produced by Jyothirmayi and Kunchacko Boban under Amal Neerad Productions and Udaya Pictures, Bougainvillea follows the story of Royce and Reethu, a happy couple with two children whose lives are turned upside down after a tragic accident leaves Reethu mentally affected. Meanwhile, ACP David Koshy is tasked with investigating the mysterious disappearance of tourists in Kerala, with Reethu emerging as the primary suspect in the case.
Principal photography for Bougainvillea began in September 2023 and concluded in April 2024, taking place discreetly. The film's music is composed by Sushin Shyam, with cinematography by Anend C. Chandran and editing by Vivek Harshan.
