The 2024 Malayalam psychological crime thriller Bougainvillea is directed by Amal Neerad, who co-wrote the script with Lajo Jose. This Amal Neerad Productions and Udaya Pictures collaboration is based on Jose's novel Ruthinte Lokam and signifies Jyothirmayi's comeback to film after 11 years.
