Boyfriend On Demand On OTT: BLACKPINK’s Jisoo and Seo In Guk are set to captivate audiences in Netflix’s upcoming romantic comedy Boyfriend on Demand. The streaming giant announced on February 20 that the two talented stars will take on lead roles in a unique love story set in a virtual world.
Boyfriend on Demand introduces a fascinating concept where people can subscribe to a virtual boyfriend, blurring the lines between digital connections and real-life emotions. Jisoo will play Seo Mi Rae, a webtoon producer who has grown disillusioned with love in the real world. Seeking a fresh start, she signs up for a subscription-based virtual dating service called Monthly Boyfriend, where she experiences the thrill of romance through an idealized digital setting.

Meanwhile, Seo In Guk takes on the role of Park Kyeong Nam, a fellow webtoon producer and Seo Mi Rae’s workplace rival. While he appears cold and distant, Park Kyeong Nam harbours hidden depths that will challenge Seo Mi Rae’s emotions. As their paths intertwine, the story unfolds into a mix of romance, surprises, and self-discovery.
Jisoo, who previously showcased her acting skills in the period drama Snowdrop (2021), is set to explore another compelling role. She will also be seen in the upcoming romantic fantasy zombie series Newtopia (2025), adding another layer to her growing acting career.
Seo In Guk, known for his versatile performances in dramas like Doom at Your Service (2021) and Café Minamdang (2022), is expected to bring depth to his character in Boyfriend on Demand. His ability to portray complex emotions will make the dynamics between the lead characters all the more intriguing.
The drama will be directed by Kim Jung Sik, who has previously worked on hit series such as Work Later, Drink Now (2021), Strong Girl Namsoon (2023) and No Gain No Love (2024). With his experience in delivering engaging narratives, fans can look forward to an exciting and heartfelt journey in Boyfriend on Demand.
