BTS' Dynamite Was Created Not Just For Popularity: Since their debut in 2013, the South Korean boy band BTS has continuously made history and shattered records. While the group already had a huge fan base, their popularity soared even higher with the release of their first English track, Dynamite.
BTS commenced its journey with a lineup comprising of seven members, namely RM, Suga, Jin, Jimin, J-Hope, V, and Jungkook. As time has progressed, these members have also started pursuing their solo careers alongside their group activities. In a few months, the band will mark a significant milestone as they celebrate their tenth-year anniversary.
Bang Si-Hyuk, the mastermind behind the formation of the K-Pop group and the founder of Big Hit Music and Hybe Corporation, plays a pivotal role in overseeing BTS' activities and guiding their musical endeavours.

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Si-Hyuk shared insights into the band's decision to venture into creating English-language songs. As Si-Hyuk delved into the deeper motivations behind this artistic choice, he revealed that it was not solely driven by their existing popularity.
Prior to the production of Dynamite, HYBE sought an English song for BTS and took the help of UK-based songwriting duo David Stewart and Jessica Agombar. Bang Si-Hyuk explained the rationale behind creating the track, emphasising the band's intention to uplift people's spirits with a lively tune amid the challenging times of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Si-Hyuk revealed that if BTS had been on their scheduled tour, Dynamite would not have been released. The project was chosen as a means to shift the overall mood in response to the ongoing global health crisis. Notably, BTS promptly postponed their tour plans following a surge in Covid-19 cases.
"Dynamite would not have been released if BTS had been on tour as scheduled. The project was chosen to shift the mood as a response to the pandemic situation. I thought it matched BTS and that the song's trendy vibes would be better expressed if sung in English."
The highly acclaimed group, which has been nominated for the Grammy Awards five times, received an overwhelming response to their second English track, Butter, which pays homage to R&B and pop culture.
The band's choice to uplift the spirits of their fans increased their popularity and brought them numerous nominations as a rewarding outcome.
