BTS members are currently on a hiatus to complete their mandatory military service and focus on their solo projects. Amid their absence, the group and its agency have been involved in the controversy after ADOR's CEO Min Hee Jin had a fallout with HYBE Corporation's chairman Bang Si-Hyuk. BTS got caught in another online debate after the group was accused of being part of a controversial cult known as Dahn World.
Several netizens have linked Dahn World and BTS as the six members attended Global Cyber University, which was founded by Dahn World's founder Ilchi Lee. Global Cyber University released a strong statement after these accusations surfaced on the internet and said that they will take legal action as well.
The university stated, “We will take strong legal action against the malicious slander against the university that is being spread indiscriminately.”
Our school is a four-year university approved by the Ministry of Education with administrative and legal independence. With all our classes being online, many officer workers and celebrities enrol in our classes. Please stop spreading false information about the celebrity students who enrolled in the school by choice to work hard on their careers,” the statement reportedly reads.
“The school is collecting evidence to take legal action against those spreading defamatory and malicious posts. We will not back down against those who defame the university, its students, and the faculty and staff who have worked hard for the students over the past 14 years," Global Cyber University further said.
BTS members will reunite in 2025 for their next project after all of them will return from the military.
