In a touching moment of honesty, Jimin of BTS recently apologized to his close friend Ha Sung-woon for not being more supportive during Sung-woon’s military service. This heartfelt exchange was revealed in Ha Sung-woon’s interview with GQ Korea’s July 2024 issue.

Jimin and Sung-Woon share a deep bond, with both being prominent figures in the Korean music scene. Ha Sung-woon, a former member of the popular boy group Wanna One, has completed his military service and recalled a conversation where Jimin reached out to express his regrets.

“Once Jimin, who was in the military, called me and said that he was sorry. I asked him, ‘Why are you sorry?’ and laughed because I knew exactly how he felt,” Sung-woon shared. “He said, ‘Hyung, I played too much when you were in the military… I am so sorry that I didn’t call you…’”

Sung-woon empathized with Jimin’s feelings, humorously acknowledging the challenges of military life. He responded, “Hey, you see? Right? You can now feel how hard it was for me right? But now I’m getting out!”

Jimin, who enlisted in the South Korean Army on December 12, 2023, alongside fellow BTS member Jungkook, has been reflecting on his relationships while undergoing the rigours of military service. His time in the army has given him new perspectives and prompted him to reach out to friends like Sung-woon.
