BTS Jin has once again proven his deep connection with ARMYs by prioritizing their emotions in his storytelling. In the music video for his solo track Running Wild from his album Happy, Jin revealed that he made a creative decision to avoid a plot where his character dies. Instead, he included a lighthearted and reflective scene of himself watching a movie in a theatre. This thoughtful inclusion resonated deeply with fans, contrasting starkly with fellow member V's fictional choices, where tragedy seems to follow his characters, often meeting untimely ends.

ARMYs were quick to draw parallels between Jin's hopeful narrative and V’s penchant for playing melancholic roles. While Jin ensures that ARMYs experience joy and comfort, V's characters often leave them teary-eyed. A fan quipped, “Taehyung dies twice in the same MV,” referencing his portrayal in IU’s Love Wins All music video and the heartbreaking end of his character in FRIENDS, a 2024 collaboration video song.

Jin addressed his choice during a live stream, sharing, “If I die though, ARMY fans will be sad. That’s why I added a movie theater.” This lighthearted comment sparked a flood of responses, with one fan humorously replying, “Buddy, we’ve been through HYYH and hell. We’re tough!”

While Jin’s Running Wild music video focuses on resilience, spontaneity and embracing joy, V’s cinematic stories often lean towards heartbreak. In the FRIENDS music video, V’s character experiences not one but two emotional endings, leaving fans reeling. Similarly, in his Kdrama Hwarang: Poet Warrior Youth, his character meets a tragic fate, further cementing his reputation for heart-wrenching roles.

One fan noted the contrast, saying, “Seokjin gives us hope, Taehyung gives us heartbreak. It’s like a balance we didn’t ask for!” Another ARMY added, “Even in chaos, Jin gives us a smile, while Taehyung pulls at our soul with his emotional depth. Both are artists in their own way.”

The video also features a touching tribute to Jin’s beloved late pet dog, echoing sentiments from his earlier solo debut, The Astronaut.
