Jin, the eldest member of BTS, recently completed his mandatory military service in June, making this event one of his first major public appearances since his discharge. His role as a torchbearer highlights his global influence as a Kpop star and his dedication to promoting unity and goodwill.
The Olympic flame for the Paris Games was lit in Olympia, Greece, the birthplace of the ancient Olympics, in April. Since then, it has been travelling in a relay, carried by approximately 10,000 torchbearers. The flame will eventually reach the Olympic cauldron in Paris on July 26, marking the start of the Summer Games. The torch relay will continue through the duration of the Paralympic Games from August 28 to September 8, involving another 1,000 torchbearers across 50 French towns and cities.
Past torch relays have seen the flame embark on adventurous journeys, including trips into space, underwater, and even scaling Mount Everest. This year's relay promises to be equally memorable, with Jin and other notable figures like France's soccer star Raphaël Varane participating in the event.
