BTS Jin is stepping into the world of business with an exciting new venture, marking his first major project outside of music. Partnering with Baek Jong Won, a well-known chef and judge from the popular TV series Culinary Class Wars, Jin has co-founded a traditional distilled liquor brand called Jini’s Lamp. The new business is already creating a buzz, with fresh pictures of the store circulating on social media.

On December 13, 2024, images of the Jini’s Lamp store were shared online, revealing a modern, minimalistic design. The exterior of the building features red brick and large glass windows. Inside, neatly stacked barrels labelled Jini’s Island can be seen, showcasing the liquor's different types. The store’s glass door is adorned with the slogan, “WHERE SMILES BEGIN,” reflecting the warm, inviting atmosphere Jin and Baek Jong Won aim to create.

This venture, which was established in December 2022, is a collaboration between Jin and Baek Jong Won. The duo co-founded an agricultural corporation named Jini’s Lamp, based in Yesan, South Korea, to oversee the production of the liquor. Yesan Doga, a subsidiary of The Born Korea, is responsible for the distribution. Jin’s new business venture will feature a distilled liquor called IGIN, which is set to launch later this month.

For Jin, this marks a personal milestone as he steps into the business world, showcasing his love for traditional Korean liquor. In fact, his interest in this field is not new. In 2022, Jin appeared on the BTS YouTube show Drunken Truth, where he sampled and promoted Korean spirits alongside traditional liquor master Park Rok Dam. Park, known as the Godfather of Korean Traditional Liquor, will be advising Jin and Baek Jong Won to ensure the product meets the highest standards.

This new business venture comes after Jin’s solo debut album Happy, released on November 15, 2024. The album features six tracks, including Running Wild, I’ll Be There, Another Level, Until It Reaches You, Heart on the Window, and In Yearning/Longing. Notably, Heart on the Window features a collaboration with Wendy of Red Velvet. Jin also added a personal touch to the album by designing its cover. Having debuted as a member of BTS in 2013, Jin has now ventured into new creative realms. After completing his mandatory military service in June 2024, Jin made his first public appearance at FESTA 2024 to celebrate BTS’ 11th anniversary.
