The Kdrama ‘BEGINS ≠ YOUTH’, inspired by the globally popular group BTS, made its OTT debut on April 30, 2024, but it has not been met with the enthusiasm expected. The show, which had been eagerly awaited since its announcement years ago by HYBE's founder Bang Si Hyuk, was intended to provide an in-depth exploration into a fictional world crafted by BTS. Episode 4 of ‘Begins ≠ Youth’ Part 1 starts with a flashback where Kim Joo-An tries to distract Min Ce-In on the street, feels awkward, and runs away when a fire breaks out nearby. In the present, Park Ha-Ru is struggling with mental health issues from his past trauma and avoids help. Kim Joo-An has problems with his abusive father. Kim Hwan is pressured by the school principal to get better grades in unethical ways. During a game, an accident causes Kim Joo-An to lose hearing in one ear. Despite hardships, the group of friends manages to have some fun at the beach, but serious issues continue to surface, including shocking news about Min Ce-In's mother. The episode wraps with Park Ha-Ru deciding to seek psychiatric help, but he is haunted by his past. A mysterious and ominous scene at the beach hints at further troubles.

BTS Kdrama Youth | Cast

Begins Youth, inspired by BTS' fictional universe, follows the journey of seven young men as they navigate the challenges of growing up together. Despite their differences, characters named Hwan, Cein, Hosu, Dogeon, Haru, Jooan, and Jeha find solace and belonging within their group. Seo Jihoon portrays Kim Hwan, equivalent to Jin's character in the BTS Universe, while Ro Jonghyun takes on the role of Cein (Suga) and Ahn Jo-ho plays Hosu (J-hope). Additionally, Seo Young-joo assumes the role of leader RM. Kim Yoon-woo embodies Haru (Park Jimin), Jung Woo-jin portrays Jooan (V), and Jeon Jin-seo plays Jeha (Jungkook).
