BTS is currently on a hiatus to move forward with mandatory military service and focus on their solo projects. Despite their short absence from the limelight, the Kpop group has been trending on social media and their fans are eagerly waiting for the comeback. Every month, the Korea Brand Reputation Research Institute releases a list of brand reputation ranks of Kpop groups and BTS has been taking the top spot for the past five and half years. In January 2024, BTS did not claim the throne for the first time.
In the Kpop boy group brand reputation ranking, SEVENTEEN has claimed the top spot for the first time and BTS has slipped to the third position. BTS' falling to third position is due to their absence from the limelight as the group is currently serving in the military. Another Kpop group NCT has gained the second position in the list.
RIIZE, ZEROBASEONE, THE BOYZ, Stray Kids, EXO, SHINee, ASTRO, ATEEZ, Super Junior, TVXQ, BTOB, and BOYNEXTDOOR are the other Kpop groups on the list.
On the work front, BTS' agency BigHit has released a docu-series 'BTS Monuments Beyond The Star', in which all the members talk about their journey in Kpop, their struggles and their success. In the latest episode, BTS members talked about how they were feeling when the world was hit with the pandemic and their concerts were cancelled.
After the concert at the Los Angeles SoFi Stadium, V said, "This concert was very precious and an important time for the seven of us.” Adding that they finally got a chance to perform after enduring a lot he says “This concert was really like the end of a chapter for us, I hope it was as memorable for ARMY as it was for us.”
BTS recently achieved a new milestone after the group dominated Billboard's global Digital Song Sales December 2023 chart. Their song 'Spring Day' is currently ruling the chart at No.1 position and it came as a surprise because the song was released in 2017. 'Outro: Tear' is at second rank, 'No More Dream' at sixth and 'Louder Than Bombs' is at eighth position.
