BTS fans are buzzing with excitement after the mention of the group's much-anticipated reunion in Netflix’s espionage thriller The Recruit Season 2. With five BTS members—RM, Jimin, Jungkook, V and Suga—currently completing their military service and expected to be discharged by June 2025, the excitement around their 2026 reunion is already high. Now, a reference to their comeback in The Recruit has only added fuel to the fire!
In a particular episode of the series, actor Teo Yoo’s character, Jang Kyu, speaks to his NIS boss and casually drops BTS into the conversation. He mentions that an individual requested $50,000 along with a BTS VIP Package for their reunion tour—because they’re an ARMY! The unexpected mention of the global superstars in the show had fans laughing and celebrating on social media.
As soon as the episode aired, ARMYs took to social media to share their excitement. One fan wrote, "Random BTS mentions written into drama plotlines is so funny to me." Another added, "The fact they’re already talking about how badly people want VIP tickets in a K-drama??? It’s over for us!"

Some fans even highlighted how BTS’ reunion is not just an event for their fandom but a cultural moment for South Korea. "The whole country is waiting for BTS’ reunion. It’s gonna be the biggest idol group reunion ever!" one fan wrote.
The Recruit Season 2, which premiered on January 30, continues the story of Owen Hendricks, played by Noah Centineo. This time, he is joined by Jang Kyu, a Korean secret agent played by Teo Yoo. Together, they work to tackle a major political threat.
Currently, RM, Jimin, Jungkook, V, and Suga are serving in the military, following the completion of Jin and J-Hope’s service last year. With the remaining members expected to be discharged by mid-2025, the anticipation for a full-group comeback in 2026 is growing stronger. While the mention in The Recruit was just a fictional reference, it reflects the real-world excitement surrounding BTS' eventual return.
