BTS' Jimin Scammed By Lee Jin Ho
A recent controversy has engulfed the Korean entertainment industry, involving BTS member Jimin and comedian Lee Jin Ho. According to reports, Jimin had generously lent ₩100 million KRW (approximately $74,100 USD) to Lee Jin Ho in 2022, while trusting his acquaintance's assurance of urgent financial needs.
However, the situation took a disturbing turn when Lee publicly confessed to struggling with a severe gambling addiction, revealing that Jimin's loan was utilised to fuel his destructive habit. In a shocking admission, Lee disclosed that he had borrowed substantial sums from multiple celebrities, fabricating dire circumstances such as tax emergencies and family crises to secure the funds.
Lee's shocking revelation quickly went viral, sparking widespread outrage and sympathy for Jimin, who is currently serving in the South Korean military. The incident has raised concerns about the exploitation of celebrity relationships and the devastating consequences of unchecked addiction.
BTS' Jimin, along with other celebrities like Lee Soo Geun and Ha Sung Woon, fell victim to comedian Lee Jin Ho's scam. Notably, Jimin demonstrated exceptional kindness, extending repayment deadlines despite realising he'd been deceived. Reports suggest Jimin generously allowed Lee Jin Ho 10 years to repay the ₩100 million KRW loan. In response to the controversy, Knowing Bros announced Lee Jin Ho's departure from the show, effective immediately.
