BTS RM, the leader of the globally renowned Kpop group, is all set to premiere his solo documentary film RM: Right People, Wrong Place at the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) 2024. However, in a recent message to fans on Weverse, the artist revealed that he shot the film with the thought that he “might not release it.”

The heartfelt message, posted on October 6, 2024, touched upon RM’s feelings about the documentary and his gratitude toward his fans. The premiere, scheduled for tomorrow, will take place outdoors in Busan. RM thoughtfully reminded those attending to dress warmly and bring raincoats, as the weather forecast predicts rain until the afternoon.

Reflecting on his experience filming the documentary, RM shared that he worked closely with director Seok Jun throughout last year. “It felt like I lived with him while thinking that I might not release it,” the Wild Flower singer confessed. Despite his initial hesitations, the project has now become an important chapter of his life.

RM: Right People, Wrong Place chronicles the BTS leader’s journey of creating his second solo album Right Place, Wrong Person. The documentary captures RM’s thoughts and emotions as he wrapped up his twenties and prepared for his mandatory military enlistment. He expressed his hope that fans would enjoy the documentary and watch it warmly, asking them to take care not to catch a cold during the screening.

ARMYs attending the RPWP movie screening at BIFF 2024 are showcasing the grandeur of the event. Similar to previous movie screenings like JUNGKOOK: I AM STILL, BTS members have expressed gratitude to ARMYs for their unwavering support. 

In the message, RM also shared a glimpse of his current life in the military, mentioning that he has been doing well and writing in his journal every day. “Let’s talk a lot once I’m back!” he concluded, expressing his eagerness to reconnect with fans once his military service ends.

This documentary will be the first time RM’s journey of creating Right Place, Wrong Person is showcased in such depth. The album, which marked his solo comeback on May 24, 2024, features the lead track LOST! and explores themes of self-reflection and personal growth.

In addition to the documentary, RM recently collaborated with Megan Thee Stallion for the track Neva Play, released on September 6. The collaboration came with an animated music video, adding another unique project to his expanding solo discography. With RM: Right People, Wrong Place, fans can expect a more personal and introspective look into RM’s artistic process and life experiences as he transitions into a new chapter.
