BTS SUGA has been noticeably absent from fan interactions for quite some time, leaving many wondering when he will reconnect with ARMY. Known for his heartfelt messages and introspective music, the rapper has remained silent on social media following his DUI controversy in August 2024. With his birthday approaching on March 9, fans are hoping for an update, but opinions remain divided on whether he should break his silence just yet.
SUGA, currently fulfilling his military service, has not engaged with fans for over a year and a half. This prolonged silence has created a sense of distance, making many ARMYs feel his absence deeply. Those who have always drawn comfort from his words and reflections are especially missing his presence on platforms like Weverse and Instagram.
Some fans believe he should check in occasionally, while others argue that his quiet nature makes this behaviour unsurprising. Supporters defending him insist that he will return in his own time and should not be pressured into making a statement. Despite mixed opinions, one thing remains clear—fans are eager for SUGA’s return.

For those unfamiliar with the situation, SUGA made headlines in August 2024 after being caught drunk driving an electric scooter. Although no casualties or major incidents occurred, the backlash was intense. Reppeak up on his birthday, while others think he will wait until his military discharge in June 2025. Another possibility is that once all BTS members have completed their service, they might hold a group live broadcast, giving SUGA the opportunity to reconnect with ARMY.
The DUI Incident and Its Aftermatorts suggested that his blood alcohol content was around 0.227%, nearly seven times over the legal limit, though this was never officially confirmed by authorities.
Following the controversy, SUGA faced widespread criticism. The case was settled through a summary indictment, resulting in a court-ordered fine of 15 million KRW. When summoned for questioning, he issued a public apology, bowing twice before reporters. Since then, he has maintained a low profile, refraining from social media activity and avoiding direct engagement with fans.
Adding to the sense of disconnect, SUGA has not released any solo music in over a year, leaving fans uncertain about his future plans. With no official statements or updates, ARMYs are left waiting, hoping that when the time is right, he will return to the spotlight in his own way.
