On Thursday, BTS’ V aka Kim Taehyung celebrated the first anniversary of his 2023 hit album Layo(v)er. The Kpop idol dropped a series of throwback pictures from the set of Layo(v)er on his Instagram account. Taehyung captioned the post, “Although my memory is messed up, happy 1st anniversary of Layover to myself.” Take a look at the pictures below:
About BTS' V's Layover
BTS’ V made his solo debut with the album 'Layo(v)er' on September 8, 2023, under Big Hit Music. The album is a fusion of pop, R&B, and jazz, showcasing V's soulful vocals. The six-track album includes a piano version of 'Slow Dancing' and features accompanying music videos for each song.
According to the prestigious Hanteo Chart, V's debut album Layo(v)er achieved a groundbreaking feat by selling 1.67 million copies on its opening day, shattering the previous record for the highest first-day sales by a solo Kpop artist in the chart's history.
In addition to its domestic success, Layo(v)er also made a significant impact on international charts. The album debuted at an impressive number two on the Billboard Japan Hot Albums chart and the Oricon Albums Chart, demonstrating V's considerable influence in the Japanese music market.
In the United States, Layo(v)er achieved a remarkable milestone by entering the Billboard 200 chart at number two, with an impressive 100,000 equivalent album units earned in its first week.
