BTS ARMYs have recently rallied around band member V after noticing that several of his fan cams were unexpectedly removed from YouTube due to copyright claims. This incident sparked a significant reaction from the ARMY, leading to the trending of the hashtag “Taehyung is BTS too” on social media.
On September 4, it was observed that fan cams featuring BTS V were deleted from YouTube, despite some of these videos being uploaded years ago. V was notably the only BTS member affected by this issue, which led to widespread speculation and concern among fans. Many of these clips, which had garnered millions of views, were crucial for fans who wished to relive memorable performances.
The deletion of these fan cams led to theories about possible causes. Some fans suspect that sasaeng fans might have reported these videos, while others believe that HYBE, BTS management agency, might have claimed copyright infringement. The sudden removal of these cherished clips and the lack of an official explanation from HYBE fueled frustrations among fans, who voiced their concerns using the hashtag “Taehyung is BTS too” on Twitter.

In response to the backlash, HYBE has now retracted the copyright claims. On September 6, a popular fan channel named MOMBO reported that most of V’s fan cams were restored on YouTube. This move came after significant pressure from the BTS fan community, who had demanded transparency and equal treatment for all BTS members.

Fan cams are particularly valuable as they provide a way for international fans to experience BTS performances they may not have attended in person. The swift removal of these videos was seen as a blow to V’s global fanbase, who have continued to support him throughout his solo activities.
On the professional front, V has been making waves with his solo career. His digital single FRI(END)S, released in March, was well-received, and he recently launched his photobook project TYPE 1, accompanied by a solo exhibition titled ARTSPACE: TYPE 1. V is currently fulfilling his mandatory military service and is expected to rejoin BTS activities in mid-2025.
