Kaun Banega Crorepati 16: In the latest episode of quiz show, hosted by Amitabh Bachchan, Banti Vadiva, the first Adivasi contestant of the season, won ₹50 lakh. He missed becoming the first crorepati of the season, falling short by just one question. The ₹1 crore question he couldn’t answer was a critical moment in his game.
He excelled in the initial round, securing ₹10,000, and continued to build his confidence as he answered the "Super Sawal" correctly, earning the "Dugna Astra" power which doubled his winnings to ₹1,60,000. His success didn’t stop there; he pressed on with unwavering focus and ultimately amassed ₹25,00,000, and ₹50,00,000. But, he couldn't answer the next question, which was "In 1948, which of these did the Bengali sculptor Chintamoni Kar win for an artwork titled ‘The Stag’?" The four options were: A. Pythagoras Prize B. Nobel Prize C. Olympic Medal D. Oscar Medal.
Banti, unsure of the correct answer, grappled with his choices but hesitated to answer, knowing that an incorrect response would reduce his prize to ₹3,20,000. Opting to play it safe, he decided to leave the game, a decision Amitabh Bachchan praised. After exiting, Banti guessed "Pythagoras Prize," which turned out to be wrong.
The right answer was "Olympic Medal." Amitabh Bachchan elaborated that in the 1948 London Olympics, art competitions were included, and Kar had won a silver medal for his artwork.
