Cannes 2025: Renowned Indian filmmaker Payal Kapadia, who got recognition after her directorial Malayalam movie All We Imagine As Light won the Grand Prix at Cannes in 2024, has now become the jury of the prestigious film festival this year. Cannes has recently announced its jury members, which also include some big names from the entertainment industries across the globe, such as Halle Berry (American actress), Jeremy Strong (American actor) and Hong Sansoo (South Korean filmmaker), to name a few. Notably, this year the Cannes jury will be led by popular French actress Juliette Binoche, who is the recipient of several accolades, including the Academy Award, British Academy Film Award and Cesar Award.

Cannes Film Festival 2025 Dates And More Details 

The 78th annual Cannes Film Festival will be held from May 13 to 24. Juliette Binoche will be the Jury president for the main competition. French actor Laurent Lafitte will be hosting the opening and closing ceremonies. At the opening ceremony, legendary Hollywood actor and filmmaker Robert De Niro will be receiving the Honorary Palme d'Or for lifetime achievement award. Apart from the honour, Niro will also conduct a masterclass for the attendees on May 14 at the Debussy Theatre. Notably, the Cannes Film Festival will open with the French comedy film Bye Bye by Amélie Bonnin.
