Chandramukhi 2 Box Office Collection: Kangana Ranaut’s Psychological Horror-Comedy Witnesses Further Drop On Day 8; Inches Towards Rs 40 Crore Mark

‘Chandramukhi 2’ surprisingly is having a positive run at the box office and has crashed the box office collection of Mammootty’s ‘Kannur Squad.’ The film is directed by P Vasu and stars Kangana Ranaut and Raghava Lawrence in the lead roles. After having a good run at the box office for a week, ‘Chandramukhi 2’ on Day 8 saw a major dip in the box office collection, and has reached around Rs 35 Crore mark in India.  

On its opening day, ‘Chandramukhi 2’ minted around Rs 8.50 Crore, whereas on Day 8 the film earned Rs 1.60 Crore, taking the total collection to be around Rs 34. 55 Crore in India. The film is raking decent numbers from the Southern states, however in the Hindi belt, ‘Chandramukhi 2’ has earned Rs 0.2 Crore after a week’s run and witnessed a box office clash with ‘Fukrey 3’ and ‘The Vaccine War.’

‘Chandramukhi 2’ revolves around a family entering their ancestral home and soon experiencing paranormal activities. As they set on a mission to unravel the truth of the happenings, they unknowingly open the mysteries of an old tale which was not meant to.

The film hit theatres on September 28 in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam. In the sequel of the film, Kangana Ranaut essays the role of a dancer in the king’s court, and is known for her beauty and dance skills. The first installment starred Rajinikanth and Jyothika in the lead roles, and was released in 2005.
