Ne Zha 2: The Chinese animated fantasy adventure movie has been garnering praise for its storyline globally. Released in theatres on January 25, has reached another milestone by becoming the 5th highest-grossing movie ever worldwide. It has surpased the worldwide collection of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The original movies like Novocaine, Black Bag and Mickey 17 are failing to grab the attention of viewers. Not only them, the sequels to popular franchises including Captain America: Brave New World and Paddington in Peru are also not able to leave their impactful mark at the box office.

Ne Zha 2's total gross in China through Sunday was slightly over RMB 14.86 billion. Adding more than USD 31 million from international markets outside China, the movie's global collection rises to USD 2.085 billion. Making the animated film take a spot above Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2.071 billion USD) on the all-time global chart despite a quiet weekend at the international box office, as per Deadline report.

In China, Ne Zha 2 is projected that NZ2 to finish with a RMB 15.2 billion (approximately 2.1 billion). Amid this, the movie continues to expand its reach. Its set for Indonesia release on March 21 along with several European countries and Japan in the list.

This milestone marks Ne Zha 2 as the first non-Hollywood film to surpass USD 2 billion globally, securing its position in the international box office. The film is a direct sequel to 2019’s Ne Zha and third installment in Enlight Pictures' Fengshen Universe after 2020's Jiang Ziya.
