The popular Television and iconic show CID is back on the small screen since December 2024 on Sony TV and is also simultaneously streaming on Netflix. According to a recent report, a new face is likely to join the cast of CID 2. As reported by Gossip TV, Parth Samthaan will make his Television comeback with Sony TV’s show CID 2. Reports also suggest that the actor is currently in talks with the makers. However, there is no official confirmation by the makers or Parth himself.

Recently, an India TV report claimed that ACP Pradyuman (played by veteran actor Shivaji Satam) will die in the show after becoming a victim of a bomb blast. The reports further claimed that the decision came due to the show’s declining TRP. On the other hand, Shivaji stated that he is on break currently and does not have any idea what will happen next in the show.

In an interview with the Times of India, Shivaji Satam said, “I have no clue about this. I have taken a break for sometime and the makers know what lies ahead in the show. I have learnt to take everything in my stride and if my track is over, I am okay with it. However, I have not been told whether my track is over or not! As of now I am not shooting for the show. I am planning to go on a holiday in May, because my son who lives abroad is coming to India. I have enjoyed playing ACP for 22 years in the earlier season. It has been a great journey. The show has given me a lot. As of now I am just taking a break and am going to enjoy my life. I have worked hard and everyone deserves a break. Whether my track will be revived or not is something the makers know well.”

CID is one of the cult shows of Indian Television history, which made its debut on January 21, 1998 on Sony TV. The show went off air on October 27, 2018, after the completion of 1,547 episodes. The show successfully ran for two decades but culminated after it started seeing a drop in viewership. The first season of the show can be watched on SonyLIV. CID mainly starred Dayanand Shetty, Shivaji Satam, Aditya Srivastava, Dinesh Phadnis, Narendra Gupta and Ansha Sayed in key roles.

Coming back to Parth Samthaan, he is known for his work in Kaisi Yeh Yaariaan, Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Kasautii and Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya, to name a few.
