Cigarettes After Sex, an indie-pop band, canceled their Bengaluru performance just hours before it was scheduled to begin. The band was scheduled to play Tuesday at the city's Bhartiya Mall. In a statement posted on their Instagram Story, they apologised to the concertgoers who had already assembled at the venue, blaming 'local production.'

This came after Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged organisers and state governments to concentrate on building robust concert infrastructure. Meanwhile, fans were devastated when well-known American rock band Cigarettes after Sex called off their Bengaluru show on Tuesday.

Along with an elaborate note, citing 'techical difficulties' and 'local production' issues, thecaption on the post read, "Unfortunately the local production had technical difficulties they couldn’t fix. we tried everything we could to make the show happen, but the problems are with the local production & beyond our control. we waited months & months to see you & are heartbroken that there’s nothing we can do. love you all & are so sorry for this."

Many irate fans vented their frustration on social media, accusing the organisers, BookMyShow, of not even informing the concertgoers of the last-minute cancellation and wondering if Bengaluru, which has hosted major international acts in the past, is still capable of handling large concerts.

Meanwhile, Cigarettes After Sex has enthralled audiences all around the world with its evocative, mournful melody and black and white silhouette graphics.

The band, which was founded in El Paso, Texas, in the late 2000s, immediately gained international renown for their distinctive fusion of ambient pop and luscious melodies. The band just arrived in India and already played successfully in Mumbai and Gurugram.
