Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu are gearing up for their upcoming series, Citadel: Honey Bunny and fans couldn't be more thrilled. The series has been making waves since its announcement and now, the creators have teased an important date, creating a buzz among the audience. The excitement peaked when Raj and DK shared a cryptic post on social media featuring the digits “01.08,” sparking speculation about whether this date marks the release of a teaser, trailer or the series itself. The series will be available on Prime Video.
Citadel: Honey Bunny boasts a stellar cast, including Kay Kay Menon, Simran, Soham Majumdar, Shivankit Singh Parihar, Kashvi Majmundar, Saquib Saleem and Sikandar Kher in pivotal roles. The announcement was met with an outpouring of enthusiasm from fans, eagerly awaiting the series' release.
In a recent statement, Samantha Ruth Prabhu expressed her excitement and gratitude for being part of the series. She shared, “I never would have imagined that I would do action. But today, for me, being at this event is already such a victory for me, because the last moment I didn’t really think I could do it. I didn’t think I would be a part of Citadel. I’m extremely grateful to Raj, DK, Sita and Amazon for really coming to my rescue. I just had to prep physically. I am just so incredibly proud already that this is the way it is, this is the way it looks. I can’t believe – this is how it looks.”
Director Karan Johar had praised both Varun and Samantha, saying, “Both you and Varun have literally owned it.”
Honey Bunny is the Indian instalment in the Citadel universe. Prime Video India unveiled the trailer at a grand event earlier this year, which included a montage of all the titles. The clip showcased intense action sequences, with Samantha wielding two pistols and preparing for combat alongside Varun. The high-octane scenes promise an action-packed series that fans won't want to miss.
In addition to Citadel: Honey Bunny, Varun Dhawan is one of the busiest actors in the industry, juggling multiple projects. He has been shooting for several films, including John Baby. There are also reports of him reuniting with his father, David Dhawan, for a new film titled Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai. Recently, Varun and Mrunal Thakur wrapped up the first shooting schedule for this untitled film in Mumbai, marking their fourth collaboration after hits like Main Tera Hero, Judwaa 2 and Coolie No. 1.
