Inside Out 2 has officially become the highest-grossing animated movie ever, earning a remarkable $1.462 billion globally. This achievement surpasses the previous record held by Frozen 2, which was released in 2019. Additionally, Inside Out 2 has secured 13th in the all-time global box office rankings. The film, already the most successful worldwide theatrical release of 2024, has set numerous records.

It became the fastest animated film to reach $1 billion globally in just 19 days. It also holds the titles for the highest-grossing movie of 2024 to date, the only film of the year to cross $1 billion, the biggest global animation opening with $292 million, and the second-biggest domestic animation opening at $154 million. Moreover, Inside Out 2 is now the highest-grossing film in Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Chile and Uruguay.

Pixar expressed their gratitude to fans worldwide through an Instagram post, saying, "We’re filled with Joy! Thanks to every fan around the world for making Inside Out 2 the biggest animated movie of all time."

Now in its sixth week of release, Inside Out 2 has grossed over $600 million domestically and remained in the top three titles throughout its run. Internationally, it has earned $861 million and is set to open in its final market, Japan, next week. With this blockbuster success, Disney now holds four of the top five and nine of the top twelve highest-grossing animated films in history.

Inside Out 2 takes viewers back into the mind of teenager Riley, where Headquarters is undergoing a transformation to accommodate new emotions: Anxiety, Envy, Ennui and Embarrassment. The original emotions—Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust—must navigate these changes.

The film features a star-studded voice cast, including Amy Poehler, Maya Hawke, Kensington Tallman, Liza Lapira, Tony Hale, Lewis Black, Phyllis Smith, Ayo Edebiri, Lilimar, Grace Lu, Sumayyah Nuriddin-Green, Adèle Exarchopoulos, Diane Lane, Kyle MacLachlan, Paul Walter Hauser and Yvette Nicole Brown.

Directed by Kelsey Mann and produced by Mark Nielsen, with executive producers Pete Docter, Jonas Rivera and Dan Scanlon, the screenplay was written by Meg LeFauve and Dave Holstein, with a story by Mann and LeFauve. The film's music is composed by Andrea Datzman.

Inside Out 2 is currently in theatres, continuing to captivate audiences worldwide with its heartfelt story and record-breaking success.
