Rajinikanth In Coolie: After impressing the audience with his 2024 releases Lal Salaam and Vettaiyan, Rajinikanth is now set to headline his next highly anticipated film, Coolie. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film has generated immense excitement. Amid all the buzz, Thalaiva shared an exciting update about the film and revealed that the team had completed around 70 percent of the shooting.
Rajinikanth was spotted at the Chennai airport as he headed off to shoot the next schedule of Coolie in Bangkok. During his interaction with paparazzi stationed outside the airport, the megastar shared details about the movie. He said, “70% of the shooting is wrapped up. The current schedule is planned from January 13 to January 28."

In addition to Rajinikanth, Coolie also stars Nagarjuna, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, Kishore Kumar G, and Reba Monica John, among many others. Reportedly, Bollywood actor Aamir Khan will also join the star cast for a special appearance. Rajinikanth will play the role of Deva, while Shruti Haasan will portray Preethi, the female protagonist. Coolie marks the first collaboration between Rajinikanth and filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj. The film is backed by Kalanithi Maran’s Sun Pictures, with music composed by Anirudh Ravichander. The release date for the film is yet to be announced.
Meanwhile, Rajinikanth is receiving praise for his performance in Vettaiyan. Helmed by T.J. Gnanavel, the Tamil action movie stars Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Dushara Vijayan, and others in pivotal roles. The film marked the reunion of the legendary actors Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan on screen after almost 33 years.
Apart from Coolie, Rajinikanth has several other films in the pipeline, including Jailer 2. Rajinikanth collaborated with filmmaker Nelson Dilipkumar for the movie Jailer in 2023, which became a blockbuster action entertainer. Fans are now eagerly awaiting updates on the much-anticipated sequel, Jailer 2.
