Dalljiet Kaur, who married Nikhil Patel on March 10, 2023, recently shared her feelings amid their ongoing divorce. Taking to Instagram, she posted a cryptic note discussing being wronged and questioning those who noticed the wrongdoings but chose to stay silent. Dalljiet's Instagram story reflected her emotional turmoil as she wrote, "At the end of this road, the real question would be, who saw the wrong, realised it was wrong, told me it was wrong while it was happening, and felt bad that this happened in the first place, and also had the guts to stand by me."
She further expressed uncertainty about her future but conveyed her trust in God to guide her path. "Even I want to see what this journey holds ahead and who were the ones who stood by me, and who were those who chose the convenience to be on both sides. I am letting God decide the path ahead. And also letting the universe show me the truth of everyone around me... whether it was a relationship of years or a year... I want to see if humanity stood a chance."
In the previous month, Dalljiet took legal action in Nairobi City court against Nikhil, obtaining a stay order to prevent him from evicting her or her son from their home in Kenya.
Rumours about Dalljiet and Nikhil's separation first surfaced in February, just ten months after their wedding. Nikhil confirmed their separation in May, revealing that Dalljiet had decided to leave Kenya with her son, Jaydon, and return to India in January. "We both realized that the foundation of our blended family wasn’t as strong as we had hoped, making it hard for Dalljiet to settle in Kenya," he told E-Times. Despite their Indian wedding ceremony in Mumbai in March 2023, which was culturally significant, it was not legally binding. The ceremony was intended to reassure Dalljiet’s family about her move to Kenya.
Amid the ongoing divorce, Nikhil also sent a legal notice to Dalljiet, accusing her of harassment. He claimed that her social media posts accusing him of an extra-marital affair were incorrect and fell under various Indian laws, including The Information Technology Act of 2000 and The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act of 2012.
This is Dalljiet Kaur’s second marriage. She was previously married to Shalin Bhanot, but they divorced in 2015 after she accused him of domestic violence.
