Millie Bobby Brown takes on the role of Elodie, the princess of a kingdom ruled by her father, the esteemed king played by Ray Winstone. In a bid to secure the kingdom's prosperity, the king arranges a marriage contract for Elodie with a prince, portrayed by Nick Robinson. Initially, this arrangement seems promising; the prince is amiable and possesses a pleasing appearance that catches Elodie's eye. Their initial wedding ceremony unfolds with all the traditional pomp and circumstance, seemingly marking the beginning of a harmonious partnership.

However, the narrative takes a sudden and dramatic turn during a subsequent ceremony, which serves as the focal point of the entire cinematic tale. Damsel | What Doesn’t Work?

It seems like there was a missed opportunity to show Millie taking charge and standing up to the challenges she faced. Instead, the focus remained on her moments of fear rather than her moments of strength and determination. It would have been satisfying to see her character rise above her circumstances and confront.

Nick Robinson, who played the role of a prince, could have been given a little more screen time. 

In ‘Damsel’, there's a sense that the story could have been more centered around the human characters rather than allowing the dragon to overshadow the entire ensemble. It seems like the filmmaker chose to make the dragon the primary focus, serving as both the antagonist and the main attraction of the movie. While the dragon undoubtedly adds an element of excitement and intrigue, it's possible that the balance between showcasing the human characters and the fantastical creature could have been better managed.
