Zaira Wasim, who made her Bollywood debut with Aamir Khan’s Dangal but left the industry after a few years, recently shared the news of her father Zahid Wasim’s demise. The former actress did not disclose the reason behind the death but urged people to keep her father in their prayers.
Zaira shared the news on her Instagram account and wrote, “Verily the eyes shed tears and the heart grieves, but we will not say except that which is pleasing to our Lord.” My father, Zahid Wasim, has passed away. Please remember him in your prayers and ask Allah to forgive his shortcomings, make his grave peaceful, protect him from its torment, ease his journey from here ahead. May he be called to an easy accounting and be granted the highest level of Jannah and Maghrirah. Indeed, we belong to Allah, and Indeed, to Him, we shall return.”

People poured their heartfelt condolences to the actress. A user wrote, “May Allah give your father a highest and highest rank in Jannah.” A comment read, “My heartfelt condolences, Zaira. I am deeply saddened to hear about the passing of your beloved father, Zahid Wasim. Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilaihi Rajiun. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. May Allah grant him Jannah and ease his journey Ameen. I pray that you and your family find strength and comfort in each other and in the memories you shared with him.”
A user commented, “Sending you prayers.” Another said, “Stay strong my dear sister.”
Zaira Wasim’s Career In Bollywood
Zaira made her Bollywood debut with Nitesh Tiwari’s Dangal. The sports drama was based on the lives of the Phogat sisters of Harayana, who made big names all over the world in the field of wrestling. She played the role of Geeta Phogat. The film was released in 2016 and was the huge blockbuster movie of the year. It features Aamir Khan, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Suhani Bhatnagar, Sanya Malhotra, and Sakshi Tanwar in key roles. She then appeared in Secret Superstar directed by Advait Chandan. The 2017 film stars Aamir Khan, Meher Vij, and Raj Arjun in pivotal roles. Her last movie was Shonali Bose’s 2019 movie The Sky Is Pink which starred Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar in the lead.
The actress then announced that she had quit the entertainment world as her relationship with her religion had been threatened. She shared a long post on her social media accounts to explain the reason behind the decision.
