Bollywood power couple Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh brought immense joy to their fans with the announcement of their first child’s birth two months ago. The couple named their baby girl Dua Padukone Singh, a name both meaningful and unique. When Deepika introduced her daughter to the world in a heartfelt social media post, she explained the beautiful name’s significance: “Dua Padukone Singh. ‘Dua’: meaning a Prayer. Because She is the Answer to our Prayers. Our hearts are filled with Love & Gratitude. Deepika & Ranveer.”

While this explanation won the hearts of fans, a new theory has recently gone viral online, sparking excitement and curiosity. Some fans believe that Dua’s name might also be a tribute to the powerful women in the Padukone and Singh families.

According to an Instagram post by Filmygyan, the initials in Dua may represent D for Deepika, U for Ujjala Padukone (Deepika’s mother) and A for Anisha Padukone (Deepika’s younger sister). This intriguing combination has led fans to wonder if Deepika subtly honoured her family through her daughter’s name. Although it could be a coincidence, fans couldn’t help but point out this touching possibility.

Yet, some observant followers noted that this theory doesn’t include Ranveer’s side of the family, especially his mother, Anju Bhavnani. In response, a social media user suggested that the “A” in Dua could also stand for Anju, thereby recognizing both Deepika and Ranveer’s mothers in the name. Fans have loved drawing comparisons to Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Nick Jonas’ daughter, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas, who was named after her grandmothers as well.

As new parents, Deepika and Ranveer are reportedly cherishing every moment with Dua, embracing this new chapter in their lives with immense gratitude. Meanwhile, they both recently made an appearance in Rohit Shetty’s Diwali release Singham Again, where they shared the screen as fierce cops.
