Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh recently welcomed their first child, a baby girl, bringing immense joy to their lives. The couple took to social media to share the exciting news with fans, expressing their gratitude as they embraced parenthood. Interestingly, years ago, Deepika's ex, Ranbir Kapoor, had humorously commented on the idea of her and Ranveer having children. During his appearance on Koffee With Karan Season 5 in 2016, where he shared the couch with Ranveer, host Karan Johar couldn't help but bring up the shared history between Ranbir and Deepika.

When asked if things ever got awkward between him and Ranveer due to their past with Deepika, Ranbir shut down the speculation. He emphasized that it had been more than a decade since he and Deepika broke up, and there was no reason for anyone to feel uncomfortable. “We’ve positively moved on in our lives, and it’s high time that Koffee With Karan also moves on. Because there’s no elephant, it has disappeared, it is invisible,” Ranbir had remarked.

Ranveer, too, chimed in with his thoughts, clarifying that he never felt bothered by Ranbir and Deepika's history. He humorously asked, “Why should it? Should it?”—lightening the mood. The highlight of the episode came when Ranbir expressed his genuine happiness for Deepika and Ranveer, stating that they were a perfect match for each other. He went on to add, "I hope they make some really awesome babies together, and I hope their babies like me as an actor and that I become their favourite actor." Ranveer’s reaction to this light-hearted comment was priceless as he playfully pointed out that Ranbir, usually so composed, seemed to have gone off-script that day.

Fast forward eight years since that memorable episode and all parties involved have moved on to create their own happy families. Deepika and Ranveer tied the knot in 2018 after six years of dating, while Ranbir married Alia Bhatt in 2022. Coincidentally, both couples are now proud parents of girls.
