The highly anticipated teaser for Jigra dropped today, instantly creating a buzz among fans. Starring Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina, the film explores the powerful bond between siblings, showcasing the lengths a sister will go to protect her younger brother. With its emotional storyline and action-packed drama, Jigra is already gaining traction for its compelling plot.
After the teaser’s release, Shraddha Kapoor took to Instagram to share her excitement for the film. Praising Alia Bhatt's performance, she wrote on her Instagram story, "Ye toh theatre me bhai ke sath dekhna hai, Kya kamal ladki hai @aliabhatt, kya amazing trailer hai." Alia Bhatt responded with a playful message, calling Shraddha her “blockbuster Stree,” in reference to Shraddha’s success with Stree 2.
Jigra delves into the journey of Alia's character, a sister who embarks on a mission to save her brother, played by Vedang Raina, after he gets imprisoned in a foreign country. Directed by Vasan Bala, the film promises to be an intense emotional rollercoaster that blends action and drama while highlighting themes of courage and sibling love.

The film, co-produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Alia Bhatt’s Eternal Sunshine Productions, is written by Debashish Irengbam and Vasan Bala. Jigra is set to hit theatres on October 11, 2024.Alia Bhatt has previously expressed her excitement about Jigra, describing it as a story of courage, passion, and determination. “We are ready to launch our second production – Jigra, a beautiful story of courage, passion, and determination. I hope to consistently support compelling narratives that are authentic and timeless,” she shared.
For her role in Jigra, Alia also underwent training to play basketball, as several scenes in the movie required her to look authentic on the court. Director Vasan Bala even brought in a coach to help Alia perfect her basketball skills.

Meanwhile, Shraddha Kapoor continues to enjoy her success with Stree 2, the sequel to the hit horror-comedy Stree. Directed by Amar Kaushik, the film has been a massive success at the box office, grossing over Rs 516 crore. The ensemble cast includes Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana and Abhishek Banerjee in pivotal roles.
