Year Ender 2023: Indian cinema achieved new heights in 2023 as the audience witnessed the big comebacks of several actors on the big screen along with blockbuster movies. Amid this success, 2023 was a year of controversies for the Indian film industry and some of these disputes created outrage on social media. With easy access to the internet and the availability of social media platforms, it is very easy for the public to share their opinions on different issues. The different opinions can also lead to a war of words among the netizens, which created several 'Boycott' moments in 2023. Take a look at the list of Indian actors who got involved in the big controversies in 2023.
1. Deepika Padukone
2023 has been a busy and successful year for Deepika Padukone as she starred in two blockbuster films 'Pathaan' and 'Jawan'. She is currently busy working on her next big-budgeted films 'Kalki 2829 AD' and 'Fighter'. The actress got involved in a big controversy during the release of 'Pathaan' because she wore an orange bikini in the film's song 'Besharam Rang'. As the saffron colour is considered sacred in Hinduism, some people and leaders objected to it and demanded to remove the scene. 'Boycott Pathaan' also started trending on social media but 'Pathaan' turned out to be a blockbuster.

Mansoor Ali Khan received a lot of backlash on social media for making a derogatory mark over not getting to do a scene with the actress. He said, "When I heard that I was acting with Trisha, I thought there would be a bedroom scene in the film. I thought that I could carry her to the bedroom just like I did with other actresses in my earlier movies. I have done so many rape scenes in a number of movies and it's not new to me. But these guys didn't even show Trisha to me on the sets during the Kashmir schedule." This statement sparked outrage among Trisha's fans and celebrities and Trisha also slammed Mansoor Ali Khan for his disrespectful remark.
3. Prabhas
Prabhas, who rose to immense fame after the success of 'Baahubali', has been struggling to find success at the box office. He was last seen in 'Adipurush', which received a lot of backlash due to the film's poor portrayal of Ramayana and its poor VFX. Fans slammed the teaser and trailer of 'Adipurush' and heavily criticised the dialogues of the film.
