Deepika Padukone has established herself as a global star and is now all set to attend the BAFTA 2024 award ceremony. The actress will be one of the presenters at this prestigious ceremony and confirmed the news on her Instagram story. She will David Beckham, Dua Lipa, Cate Blanchett, Andrew Scott, and Lily Collins at the BAFTA, which will be held at Royal Festival Hall in London on February 18.

Hugh Grant, Gillian Anderson, Himesh Patel, Idris Elba, Emma Corrin, Emma Mackay, and Jack O’Connell, will also present the award. For the unversed, Deepika earlier attended the Oscars in 2023 and announced the performance of the song 'Naatu Naatu'.

On the work front, Deepika was last seen in 'Fighter' along with Hrithik Roshan and Anil Kapoor. While promoting the movie, Deepika was asked about doing strong female characters in male-centric action movies and if she wants to do female-centric movies in future.

Talking about doing strong female characters in future, Deepika said, "Yeah sure, wait for Shakti Shetty!” For the unversed, the 'Piku' star will be seen in Rohit Shetty's upcoming movie 'Singham 3' and will play the role of a ruthless cop Shakti Shetty. Her character will also get a standalone movie after the release of 'Singham 3'.

"But to complete my thought, you never anyway never do anything alone. I don’t think women can succeed without men and men can’t succeed without women. I think we need to rephrase the definition of feminism," she added.

"The space is there, the writers have to write. It will happen, I think it is just a matter of time. Post-COVID, everyone felt a bit rattled. It was a new experience everyone was coming out of and we made a lot of assumptions about where we are headed. We are jumping too soon in this journey of what’s working, what’s not working, that only big-budget films (are working). Actors service a script, and a director. You invest in stories, you invest in characters, you invest in people, you invest in the journey," Deepika further said.

Deepika will next star in 'Kalki 2829 AD' along with Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan.
