Indian cinema is witnessing a positive start with successful South Indian and Bollywood films at the box office. However, some movies like 'Premalu' faced delays in their OTT premieres. The Malayalam hit movie is now set to debut on OTT in April 2024. Fans are eagerly awaiting the OTT releases of highly anticipated films like 'Zwigato' and 'Agent' from 2023. Additionally, there's a growing list of delayed OTT releases and web series scheduled for April 2024.
Delayed OTT Movies & Web Series To Release In April 2024
Lal Salaam (Sun NXT)
‘Lal Salaam’ is a sports action movie made in India in 2024. It's directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth and produced by Subaskaran Allirajah through Lyca Productions. The film features Rajinikanth in an extended cameo, along with Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth as the main characters. It also includes a talented supporting cast such as Vignesh, Livingston, Senthil, Jeevitha, K. S. Ravikumar, and Thambi Ramaiah.
According to a recent report by 123Telugu, the film's premiere on OTT platforms is now scheduled for April 12. The report not only mentions a shift in the release date but also indicates a significant change in the chosen platform for Lal Salaam. Originally planned for Netflix, the film is now expected to debut on Sun NXT. However, official confirmations are still pending.
Hanuman (Disney+Hotstar)
In a fictional town, Anjanadri, the movie tells the tale of Hanumanthu. He gains the strength of Lord Hanuman to rescue the people of Anjanadri. Then, he confronts Michael after finding a strange gem.
Premalu (Disney+Hotstar)
Premalu, which premiered on February 9, 2024, received widespread critical acclaim from reviewers for its compelling narrative, captivating music, delightful humor, and outstanding performances by the cast. Despite being made on a budget of under 4 crore, the film emerged as a blockbuster at the box office, joining the exclusive ranks of Malayalam films to surpass the Rs 100 crore mark, becoming the fifth film to achieve this milestone.
Ganpath (Netflix)
In a dystopian future, relentless vigilante Ganapath embarks on a mission to dismantle a powerful criminal empire that rules the city in fear. Ganapath becomes a symbol of hope for the oppressed.
The movie was released in 2023, but didn’t make it to OTT. However, if the reports are to be believed, the film will release on Netflix in April 2024.
Zwigato (Netflix)
Before hitting theaters on March 17, 2023, the film had its premiere at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival. 'Zwigato' received acknowledgment at the 69th Filmfare Awards, earning three nominations, particularly in the Critics Best Film and Critics Best Actress categories. Netflix has acquired the digital rights of Zwigato. The movie will reportedly be out in April 2024.
Panchayat 3 (Prime Video)
‘Panchayat’ is a TV show in Hindi made by The Viral Fever for Amazon Prime Video. It's about a guy named Chandan Kumar who wrote the story, and it's directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra. The show stars Jitendra Kumar, Raghubir Yadav, Neena Gupta, Sanvikaa, Chandan Roy, Durgesh Kumar, Ashok Pathak, Faisal Malik, and Sunita Rajwar. The story follows a young engineer who takes a job as a secretary in a fictional village called Phulera in Uttar Pradesh because he can't find any other work.
The third season of ‘Panchayat’ will seemingly release on OTT in April 2024. The official announcement is yet to be made.
