Dhanush and Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth granted divorce: Tamil actor Dhanush and filmmaker Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth have officially parted ways, with the Chennai Family Welfare court granting them a divorce. According to reports by Sun TV and News 18, the couple had cited irreconcilable differences, stating that they could no longer live together, leading to the dissolution of their marriage.

The divorce proceedings between Dhanush and Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth had been ongoing for some time, with the case having been heard on three separate occasions prior. However, both parties had failed to appear in court for these sessions, leading to a delay in the resolution of the case.

In a significant development, Aishwaryaa finally appeared in court on Thursday, marking a crucial step forward in the proceedings. Following her appearance, the judge has scheduled a new hearing for November 27, at which time the final divorce decree is expected to be issued, bringing an end to the couple's marriage.

Despite their impending divorce, Dhanush and Aishwaryaa, who tied the knot in 2004, remain committed to co-parenting their two sons, Linga and Yatra. The couple's separation is evident in their living arrangements, as they reside in close proximity to each other in Poes Garden, allowing their children to seamlessly spend time with both parents. This arrangement has enabled the family to maintain a sense of stability and normalcy, despite the changes in their marital status. Furthermore, Dhanush and Aishwaryaa frequently share heartwarming moments with their sons on their respective social media accounts, showcasing their dedication to prioritising their children's well-being above all else.

On January 17, 2022, Dhanush announced their separation via a post on X, stating, “18 years of togetherness as friends, couple, as parents and well-wishers to each other. The journey has been one of growth, understanding, adjustment, and adaptation. Today, we stand at a place where our paths separate.”
