JE Entertainment Desk: Fahadh Faasil's suspense-thriller 'Dhoomam' hit the cinema halls today and has opened to positive reviews at the box office. Made under Hombale Films, the production house is making its debut in the Malayalam market with the 'Pushpa' actor worthy to be a promising hit.
While Fridays are always jam-packed with multiple releases, Fahadh Faasil is rather relaxed and confident about his release and also opened up about the reasons for not being involved in the promotions of the film.
Fahadh Faasil also confessed that the project started before the Covid-19 pandemic, where according to a report in Pinkvilla, he said, "Pawan had pitched me a script called Nicotine, and at that point, they wanted to make it in Kannada. They wanted me to play a different character but back then, I was not ready to work outside of Malayalam films."
He further said, "Post-covid, I asked Pawan about the subject, and he said it's now with Hombale, who then called me a few days later. Again, they wanted to make it in Kannada, but I didn't want to do this subject outside of Malayalam. The conversations went on for a while and then we all eventually decided to make it in Malayalam."
Fahadh Faasil added further that he shares a great equation with the production of Homable and the team of the actor is in talks with the production house for several other scripts as well.
Talking about the film, the actor thinks that 'Dhoomam' is a very relevant subject in today's time and age, saying "At least one person in every household will be concerned about this issue. This isn't an issue-based film, but a thriller about how the product reaches the consumer. I am eager to see how the audience reacts."
The actor has been actively doing films in multiple languages where he believes to keep the language as a secondary thing. Fahadh said, "I have put language as a secondary thing," I am only looking out for freshness in the script. I want to get the feeling of exploring something new."
The 'Pushpa' antagonist then opened up about not conventionally promoting his films and always believing in the audience's word of mouth. He said, "I want the audience to talk about my films, I have worked on a film for 100 days. I find it tiring to sell the film after that. I would rather put that energy into making the film than promoting it. If the film is good, people will watch it. I don't want people to watch my bad films."
Talking about his professional front, the actor has a plethora of films in the pipeline. He will next be seen in 'Maamannan' alongside Vadivelu. He also has 'Hanuman Gear', 'Paattu', and 'Production No.1' and will revive his role in 'Pushpa: The Rule' alongside Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna.
