Vir Das is all set to step in as the director of the upcoming film Happy Patel, backed by Aamir Khan's production house. The collaboration has been the talk of the town since its official announcement. Although this is not their first collaboration, the duo previously worked together on Delhi Belly, where Vir featured in the popular song 'Jaa Chudail'. According to Farah Khan, who choreographed the song, it was cut short by Aamir in the film, jokingly saying it was out of jealousy, as his track was coming next.
The memories of Delly Belly resurfaced during filmmaker Farah Khan’s recent visit to Vir Das' home for her latest vlog, where she revealed a secret about the song. Farah was heard saying, "I am going to spill another secret,” before calling Vir’s wife, Shivani. She asked her, “Did you know I was the choreographer of Vir’s item song Jaa Chudail in Delhi Belly?” Shivani replied, "Yes, of course, it was too much fun.”
Farah, in her witty style, added, “It was too good, but Aamir Khan cut it short out of jealousy because his song was coming next.”
Recalling the incident, Vir quipped, “But I was told there were pacing issues,” to which Farah sarcastically reacted, “Haan haan zaroor.”
Farah and Vir continued reminiscing about the song shoot and the latter praised Vir, calling him "such a great dancer.”
Delly Belly, one of the quirkiest unapologetic dark comedy movies, was released in 2011. The film starred Imran Khan, Kunaal Roy Kapur and Vir Das in the lead roles. Directed by Abhinay Deo, the hit movie was produced by Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao, Ronnie Screwvala, and Jim Furgele, under the banners Aamir Khan Productions and UTV Motion Pictures.

The film is nearing its theatrical release on January 16. The project not just marks Vir Das’ directorial debut, but also Imran Khan’s much-awaited comeback to the big screen.
