Arjun Rampal recently opened up about his divorce from ex-wife Mehr Jesia after being married for almost two decades. The actor shared that when he tied knot he was 24 and believed that it was too young to get married. He also stated that men mature far slower than women. Arjun further advised that people should wait to figure out their relationship before getting hitched. The Roy actor also shared that it was the most difficult phase of his life when he was going through the divorce.

In a chat with Ranveer Allahbadia on The Ranveer Show, Arjun said “I got married when I was 24, and I think it is too early; you're too young, and there's a lot to learn and experience. You have to become mature. Guys mature far slower than women do. It's a proven fact that we are idiots. If you want to be successful in it (marriage), wait it out.”

Recalling the divorce phase as the most difficult time in his life, he added, “It's very difficult; it is not easy on anyone, and it's the most difficult on children. You start to miss home.”

“I had come from a broken home when I was young, and for me to not have succeeded in marriage was something which I really had to look back upon and see how did this go wrong and how did I not see... then I realised why it went wrong and what were the things, and I take responsibility for it. We will always have each other's back. You don't have to live under the same roof or be bound or separated by a piece of paper,” he shared.

Arjun Rampal is currently working with Sanjay Dutt and Ranveer Singh on an untitled project. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the movie also stars R Madhavan and Akshaye Khanna. The project has been recently announced by the team.
