Popular television and South Indian actress Hansika Motwani is back in the headlines after reports of her divorce from her husband, businessman Sohail Kathuria, surfaced online. The couple reportedly divorced after four years of their marriage, which they had tied in 2022. As this news surfaced, rumours about their relationship are also coming back into the limelight, which had earlier caused controversy during their marriage.

According to reports, Hansika Motwani and Sohail Kathuria have officially ended their marriage after a family court in Bandra, Mumbai, finalised their divorce on March 11, 2026. The couple had tied the knot on December 4, 2022, but rumours of trouble in their relationship began surfacing just a few months later. They do not have any children.

Differences Led to Separation

The couple lived together for a short time after their wedding, but soon realised they had major differences in lifestyle, thinking, and nature. Frequent arguments over small issues made it difficult for them to continue living together, and they eventually decided to separate. Reports suggest they had been living apart since July 2, 2024, before choosing mutual divorce.

Hansika Did Not Claim Alimony

Another thing that came to light is that Hansika Motwani reportedly did not demand any kind of alimony during her divorce proceedings. It is also reported that the decision to divorce came after mutual discussion and consensus between both families.

When Hansika Motwani married Sohael Kathuriya, she faced heavy trolling on social media. Many users pointed out that Sohail had earlier been married to Hansika’s close friend, Rinky Bajaj. Because of this, several netizens accused the actress of betraying her best friend, claiming that her relationship with Sohael allegedly led to his separation from Rinky before the two eventually got married.

Hansika even attended her husband’s first wedding with Rinky, and it is visible in Sohael and Rinky’s wedding trailer video titled ‘The Perfect Fit’ on the YouTube channel The Wedding Story. 

However, according to a report in The Indian Express, when Hansika spoke to Good Times about this issue, she said that Sohael is actually her brother’s best friend and not her best friend.
